Mobility scooter and wheelchair hire at Tenerife North Airport

Landing at Tenerife North (TFN, Los Rodeos)? We meet you at arrivals with your scooter, wheelchair or walking aid ready to use — so the journey to your hotel starts the easy way. Airport handover costs €25, and collection there when you fly home another €25.

Which Tenerife airport are you flying into?

Tenerife has two airports, and it matters which one is on your ticket. Tenerife North (TFN) — officially Tenerife Norte-Ciudad de La Laguna, still called Los Rodeos by locals — sits inland above La Laguna and handles most flights from mainland Spain and between the Canary Islands, plus a growing number of European routes. Tenerife South (TFS) is where most holiday charters from the UK, Germany and Ireland land.

If you are flying into the north, you are most likely heading for Puerto de la Cruz, Santa Cruz or La Laguna — and TFN is genuinely close to all three. We deliver to both airports on the same terms, so you can simply tell us your flight and we will be there.

Getting there

How far is TFN from where you are staying?

The north airport is well placed for the north of the island — and a long way from the southern resorts.

Puerto de la Cruz

Around 26 km, roughly 20–25 minutes by road. The most common reason our customers land at TFN.

La Laguna & Santa Cruz

The airport sits beside La Laguna; Santa Cruz is about 13 km away, 15 minutes or so on the motorway.

The southern resorts

Los Cristianos, Playa de las Américas and Costa Adeje are 70–80 km away — over an hour by road. If you are staying in the south, TFS is the airport you want.

Cloud and altitude

TFN sits about 630 m above sea level, so it is often cooler and cloudier than the coast — bring a layer for the walk to the car park.

How it works

Meeting you at Tenerife North

Tell us your flight number and landing time when you book. We track the flight, so a delay is not a problem — we adjust and wait. We meet you in the arrivals hall of the single passenger terminal, hand over the equipment, adjust it to you and show you how everything works before you leave.

On the way home we do the same in reverse: we collect the equipment at the airport on your departure day, at a time that leaves you unhurried. The airport costs €25 each way — €25 for the handover and €25 for the collection — the same terms as at Tenerife South. If you would rather we collected it from your accommodation instead, that return trip is free.

Airport assistance

Help inside the terminal is separate — and free

Do not confuse our hire service with airport assistance. Aena runs “Servicio Sin Barreras” at Tenerife North, the free assistance service that helps passengers with reduced mobility from the terminal entrance or car park all the way to their seat on the aircraft, and vice versa on arrival. It is free under EU Regulation 1107/2006.

You must request it at least 48 hours before your flight, normally through your airline when you book. That service gets you through the airport; it does not give you equipment for your holiday. Ours does — and the two work perfectly well together: assistance brings you to arrivals, and we are waiting there with your scooter or wheelchair.

Tenerife North Airport hire — FAQs

What if my flight is delayed?

Give us your flight number when you book and we track it. If you land late we adjust and wait — there is no extra charge for a delay outside your control.

I am staying in the south but landing at TFN. Can you still help?

Yes, and you have two options: we can meet you at Tenerife North so you have the equipment for the hour-long drive south, or deliver it free to your accommodation in the south so it is waiting when you arrive. Delivery is free anywhere in Tenerife, so the choice is purely about what suits your journey. Tell us which you prefer and we will advise.

Is the €25 surcharge each way?

Yes. Each airport trip costs €25: €25 to meet you when you land and €25 to collect the equipment when you fly home, so €50 if we do both at the airport. You can mix and match — for example, have it waiting at the airport and let us collect it from your hotel at the end, which is €25 in total. Delivery to your accommodation is free anywhere in Tenerife, and so is collecting the equipment yourself from our premises in Icod de los Vinos.

Can I take a mobility scooter on my connecting flight?

Our scooters stay on the island — they are for use in Tenerife. If you are island-hopping and need equipment on another island, tell us and we will be honest about what we can and cannot cover.
